- 뉴욕 비영리 공연예술 단체의 예술 교육 프로그램 연구 : 씨어터 커뮤니케이션즈 그룹(TCG)의 소속 단체들을 중심으로 -
미국 뉴욕의 비영리 공연예술 단체들은 다양성(Diversity)을 원동력으로 삼고, 이에 부합하는 창작 방식과 예술 교육 프로그램을 발전시키고 있다. 본고는 뉴욕의 비영리 예술기관과 공연예술 단체들이 목표하고 있는 예술 교육 프로그램의 특성과 실행방식 을 구체적으로 이해하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 뉴욕의 비영리 예술기관인 씨어터 커뮤 니케이션즈 그룹(Theatre Communications Group)의 구조적 특성을 파악하고 본 기 관에 소속된 공연예술 단체들의 예술 교육을 커뮤니티 인게이지먼트(Community Engagement) 프로그램과 공연예술 전문 인력 양성 프로그램으로 구분하여 분석할 것 이다. 이에, 라운드 어바웃 씨어터 컴퍼니(Roundabout Theatre Company), 맨하튼 씨 어터 클럽(Manhattan Theatre Club)의 커뮤니티 인게이지먼트(CE) 프로그램과 마이 씨어터 컴퍼니(Ma-Yi Theatre Company), 얼라이언스 오브 레지던트 씨어터(Alliance of Resident Theatres)의 전문 인력 양성 프로그램을 고찰하고자 한다. 이를 통해 우리 나라 비영리 공연예술 단체들의 특성화된 예술 교육 프로그램의 발전을 위해 보다 전 문적이고 체계적인 예술 교육의 방향성을 제시할 수 있을 것이다.
A Study on Arts Education Programs of Non-profit Performing Arts Organizations in New York City : Focused on Theatre Communications Group’s Affiliates
Non-profit performing arts organizations in New York in the United States uses diversity as a driving force to develop creative methods and arts education programs that coincides with their missions. This study aims to comprehend specifically the characteristics and methods of implementing arts education programs created by non-profit arts organizations and performing arts organizations in New York City. To this end, the structural characteristics of Theatre Communications Group, a non-profit arts organization in the U.S., are identified and the arts education of the performing is analyzed by dividing it into Community Engagement Program and Professional Development Program. As for Community Engagement Program, Roundabout Theatre Company and Manhattan Theatre Club will be examined. Additionally, it will scrutinize Professional Development Program of Ma-Yi Theatre Company and Alliance of Resident Theatre. Through this, this study will be able to suggest a more professional and systematic direction for arts education for the development of specialized arts education programs of non-profit performing arts organizations in Korea.
