- 한국어 학습자를 대상으로 한 독서 수업 운영 및 효과 : 초급 학습자를 대상으로 -
이 연구의 목적은 초급 수준의 한국어 학습자를 대상으로 자율 독서 수업을 설계·적 용하고 그 결과를 분석하는 데 있다. 연구를 위하여 다양한 국적의 한국어 초급 학습자 45명을 대상으로 6주 동안 매주 1시간씩 독서 수업을 실시하였다. 독서 자료는 초급 수 준의 학습자들의 수준을 고려하여 아동용 도서 전집을 준비하였다. 이 연구를 통하여 학습자들은 한 사람 당 평균 3.6권의 책을 읽었다. 설문 조사에서 학습자들은 45명 중 읽은 책이 재미있다고 답한 학생이 36명인데 반해 쉽다는 학생은 14명밖에 되지 않았 다. 또 한국어 공부에 도움이 되었다고 답한 학생이 37명, 한국어책 읽기에 관심이 생 겼다는 학생이 30명이었다. 또한 다음 학기에도 독서 활동을 하고 싶다고 답한 학생이 39명이었으며 독서 활동은 재미있을 뿐만 아니라 어휘력·읽기·말하기 능력 등의 향상 에 큰 도움이 되었다고 하였다. 이상의 연구 결과를 통해 초급 수준의 한국어 학습자들 에게 독서 활동이 어렵기는 하지만 각자의 수준에 따라 책을 읽으며 스스로 문제를 해 결하게 되는 흥미로운 언어습득 방법이라는 것을 알 수 있었다.
Operation and Effectiveness of Reading Classes for Korean Language Learners : For Beginner Learners
The purpose of this study is to design and apply independent reading classes for beginner-level Korean language learners and analyze the results. For the study, reading classes were conducted for 1 hour a week for 6 weeks for 45 beginner Korean language learners of various nationalities. Reading materials were prepared from a complete collection of books for children, taking into account the level of beginner learners. Through this study, learners read an average of 3.6 books per person. In the survey, out of 45 learners, 18 students responded that the book they read was difficult, 36 students responded that it was interesting, 37 students responded that it was helpful in studying Korean, and 30 students responded that they became interested in reading Korean books. In addition, 39 students responded that they would like to engage in reading activities next semester as well, and that reading activities were not only fun but also greatly helpful in improving vocabulary, reading, and speaking skills. The above research results showed that reading activities are a difficult but interesting language acquisition method for beginner-level Korean learners.
